Make your handbag design dreams a reality and win £500!
Our week just got a whole lot better; finally, there’s a competition that we’re really excited about! Award of the day goes to the team over at Isla Rule (you know we’re huge fans of the label over here at Your Coffee Break) who just announced their handbag design competition. We all agree that there’s no better way to kick-off London Fashion Week than work our design skills and showing off our creative side.
With so many beautiful designs to choose from, we’ve all had those moment when shopping for our arm candy becomes a mission, wishing, just wishing, that we could take our favourite elements and merge them into one super bag. Well, now you have the chance!
The fashion team over here at Your Coffee Break have had far too much fun working with Isla Rule to design our very own handbag and we can’t wait to show you our current obsession: roomy yet elegant complete with two pockets on the front, perfect for stowing our oyster cards and any other bits we need easy access to, we’re sure this bag will turn heads.
Whilst black is a stalwart for business meetings, we opted for an equally smart yet on trend dove grey in the softest leather, with a quirky Liberty print lining. Way to add a little retro light-heartedness to a super refined workbag, no?
A big part of the Isla Rule design philosophy is to “love what’s inside,” a sentiment we agree with. No matter how gorgeous it may be on the outside, if the inside isn’t considered during the design process, a handbag just won’t cut the mustard. After all, a handbag that cannot accommodate the mishmash of our can’t-live-without essentials will never make it into the crook of our arm.
A padded compartment for our precious MacBook’s is crucial of course and we would also include a chain for our keys, which are forever getting lost, a section for our diary, pens and lipstick, a pouch that our iPhone can actually comfortably fit into and enough space to fit our laptop wires without causing a horrendous bulge. Also, necessary to include is a drawstring bag for stowing our flats, matching the lining of the bag so that even when we are rummaging through, the inside remains orderly and pretty.

To enter the competition and design your very own Isla Rule bag, just follow the steps below.
1. Create an Isla Rule Profile by subscribing to the Isla Rule Newsletter.
2. Like Isla Rule on Facebook, and upload your design drawings and any image attachments you may have.
3. Tell your friends and everyone you know to “like” your design on their Facebook page. The more likes your design has, the more the judges will be impressed.
The winner will not only receive £500 but the design will be created and sold as an Isla Rule of London Laptop Handbag. In recognition of your efforts, the handbag will be named after you or a name nominated name.
Winners will be notified by email and blog post on or about April 20, 2014.
