When Francesca moved from Italy to London, ever the land of opportunity (sorry New York), she realised the true potential of her favourite hobby and gave up a career as a chemist to set up Voila le Velo. Now living in a mews flat in East London this designer has achieved her dream; to create a bespoke, handmade in London underwear brand, with locally sourced and ethically sound materials.
Speaking about why she decided to take the leap: “I started designing and sewing panties that I wanted to buy but couldn’t find anywhere. I mix love, passion and fun to create lingerie I couldn’t find and couldn’t live without”. Here at Your Coffee Break we adore the beautiful, delicate floral designs. Using delectable prints from Liberty London, the lingerie is both pretty and suggestive; a treat for yourself that your other half will love too.
Whilst we’re not quite ready to don SS14’s hyper florals with the weather so decidedly dull, we love the idea of a secret bit of spring under our winter layers. The girly polka dots, retro stripes and gingham prints are the very epitome of British springtime, evoking a lovely sense of nostalgia. Breathable cotton fabric and cute detailing make this lingerie a dream to wear and they’re the perfect pick me up for a cold day. Feeling naughty?
