Wimbledon Tennis Fashion – Take inspiration from the courts!
Wimbledon is back and with the British tennis season in full spring, you might be in the mood for stylish and sophisticated tennis inspired fashion.
Wimbledon is widely considered to be the most prestigious tennis tournament. It’s a fantastic spectator sport, and we’re keeping an eye out for the best courtside looks this summer.
Players are required to wear a predominantly white uniform, although some accents of colour are acceptable, and we’ll be following their lead this sporting season. Working with an all-white base, we love the idea of adding splashes of green in homage to the fact that Wimbledon is the only tennis tournament played on grass, and a hint of red to match all those scrumptious strawberries we’ll be eating.
Centre court is a place for delicate grace and understated luxury. This is an event with traditional British heritage so don’t be afraid to dress up for the occasion.
A lightweight t shirt tucked in to a pleated skirt will create a gorgeous silhouette, and a bold green barrel bag will add to the block colouring trend. Accessorise with a dazzling chunky cuff (a glamorous take on the players’ sweatbands!) and a rose gold watch.
A wedge shoe from Hotter will help you easily negotiate all those grassy hills!
You’ll look effortlessly elegant basking in the sun on Murray Mount in a ladylike mid length dress, accessorised simply with a fedora hat, a green gemstone ring and a killer court. Let fresh citrus scents breeze through the air by spritzing a feminine fragrance, and pop the summer inspired bottle in to your oversized bright white tote.
If you fancy feeling a little closer to the action this summer, work the sports luxe look by teaming a textured tennis skirt with a neat sweatshirt, wrinkled suede trainers and a pastel rucksack. Add that little hint of opulence with a pendant gemstone necklace.
Floral plimsolls strike the perfect balance between sporty and cutesy; highlight the berry red colour with a matching ring from SVP Jewellery and shopper, and fasten a skinny belt around a floaty fit and flare dress. Take note, Wimbledon is a thoroughly British event, so we have to be prepared for the thoroughly British weather: make sure you’ve got both your aviators and your umbrella handy!
So go on, be a good sport, get in to the Wimbledon spirit this summer.
