Kirk Originals at Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge
It may be colder in our capital but the sun is still shining. Being self-proclaimed fall lovers here in the YCB offices, September means pumpkin spice lattes, oversized knitwear, heavy coats, long walks in Hyde Park and new staple items to update our wardrobes for autumn. Sunnies shouldn’t fall victim to the chilly temperatures and we can all agree that there’s nothing like a stylish pair of shades to complete our fall uniform.
Last Friday, September 5, saw British luxury eyewear brand Kirk Originals launch exclusively at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge. The iconic heritage brand that began in 1992 has been re-launched and reinvented this year, breathing new life into the brand whilst still holding on to its founding principles; quality, innovative design and materials, and attention to detail. A brand that’s modern and pushes the boundaries yet still manages to remain traditional? We here at Your Coffee Break can’t think of a better fit than Harvey Nics’ flagship store.
The stylish label has a range of beautifully-designed styles for both men and women. Its new optical and sun collections are influenced by art, film, music and fashion, while its classic styles are based around a 50s and 60s optical frame collection. All frames are designed in London, handcrafted in France from Italian acetate and acrylic, and made in limited numbers, meaning these glasses are truly unique and exclusive.
As it’s fashion month, we’ve been looking for the perfect sunnies to accessorise our outfits and we have become smitten with Kirk Originals. The brand offers both classic and statement styles, so we’ll have all our bases covered for possible outfit combinations over the coming month. Hurray!
There are so many incredible styles but we’ve managed to wittle them down to just five favourites:
Notorious Mirage with mercury lenses – with a shape inspired by the classic Hitchcock movies, these sunglasses will add a futuristic vibe to your outfit and would work perfectly with the 60s trend that is dominating this season.
Notorious Molten with forest lenses – add a bit of colour to your look with this pair. The dark green lenses are sure to make a statement and provide a truly unique look.
Boulevard Jet with shadow lenses – channel Jackie O with this 1960s-inspired pair of sunglasses. Teamed with a red lip, these sunglasses will add a touch of glamour to any outfit.
Muse Nougat with sepia lenses – these sunglasses are incredibly chic, with a minimalism that is perfect for fashion week. They’d look great paired with a classic outfit of skinny jeans and a leather jacket.
Amalfi Lawn with samphire lenses – last but not least is this statement pair that covers two trends in one; 70s and colour-of-the-season, green. These sunnies would look great with an all-white outfit.
