8 Spring Fashion Trends To Get Excited About

8 spring fashion trends to get excited about

SS15 trends we are excited about

Even though we are deep in the midst of winter spring isn’t far off which means spring fashion trends are just around the corner. It is important that we know which looks are going to dominate. Here is a sneak peek.

1. It is all about the gingham

Gingham is always a fun print and you are going to see it everywhere this spring and in super fun colours.

2. High necklines

It is going to be a covered up spring it seems, which is actually quite refreshing (sometimes it is nice to leave things to the imagination). If you are into skimpy and spaghetti straps, then this is so not your season (or Miley Cyrus’). We saw dickies and turtleneck dresses all over the runways. So embrace your inner Amish girl and get your conservative dressing on!

3. Irregular animal prints

Animal prints are always chic (to an extent) but now designers are throwing a curve ball. No more boring leopard print and zebra stripes. This year it’s all about chameleons and crustaceans. Who doesn’t want to wear crabs?

4. Subtle 70s

70s fashion often makes a comeback but luckily you don’t have to go steal your mom’s huge bellbottoms. This is a more quiet comeback. Just think lots and lots of denim.

5. Statement stripes

Stripes are having a major moment right now (look at Tibi) and we aren’t talking little drinky ones. We are talking bold and beautiful!

6. Power shoulders

Are the 80’s back? Actually no. See the 80s were all about shoulder pads to make a woman seem more masculine (though a lot of the time they just looked like linebackers) but this look is all about the power of bare shoulders. Think lots of one shoulder and off the shoulder dresses. Give ’em some shoulder!

7.Β  Apron skirts

Is fashion getting logical all of a sudden? Everyone from Donna Karen to Peter Som have decided to make skirts practical by adding an apron with pockets. It looks cute and you won’t lose anymore pens! Also, aprons and collars? What decade is this?

8. Detailed flats

Luckily flats are still really cool and now they are going to be real eye candy. It will be all about the decor on your flats. Everything from jewels to feathers. Fancy feet!
