Does This Mean Our Glass Slippers Are Back In Season?

Does this mean our glass slippers are back in season?

Lauren Conrad Cinderella line

It turns out that you don’t have to be a princess in order to feel like one – or at least look like one. If, like most of us, you wanted to be Cinderella when you grew up (which should totally be a viable career choice), then hold on to your white horses/mice, because thanks to Lauren Conrad that day may very well have arrived. The former-Laguna-Beach-star-turned-lifestyle-guru is releasing a Disney Cinderella Collection for her Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s line. Based on the previews that have been released, we can already tell it’s going to be magical!

Disneys Cinderella Collection by Lauren Conrad

It’s no surprise that Conrad, 29, was the one to release a Cinderella-inspired collection, seeing as the fashion designer basically owns girly style. Inspired by the ethereal beauty of Cinderella’s iconic ball gowns and slippers, the 24-piece collection features everything a wannabe princess could possibly ask her fairy godmother for. It includes fawn heels, flirty blue tulle skirts, pretty pink organza dresses and a graphic sweater with a glittery glass heel or the phrase ‘Once Upon a Time’ (for those who want to pay a more obvious homage to Cinderella). To answer the question we know you’re all asking: no, no talking seamstress mice were involved in the making of this line.

Conrad, who got her own fairytale ending last fall marrying her Prince Charming, William Tell, models the looks herself in the collection campaign. Her inspiration for the graphic design came from the original 1950s Cinderella movie, and feature Conrad in an enchanted, rustic wooded forest, complete with porcelain teacups growing on trees, a woodland tepee, powder-pink peonies, and pumpkins. Aside from the beautiful floral print organza halter dress, Conrad also sports a new ‘do, a super stylish wavy bob.

Disneys Cinderella Collection for Kohls by Lauren Conrad

But don’t fret, this won’t be the same as dressing up as Cinderella for Halloween when you were 5 years old. The line is delicate yet versatile, feminine without being overly girly, and perfect for upcoming springtime. The beauty of these pieces is that they can be dressed up or down: pair the pastel blue tulle skirt ($64) with a biker jacket and Chuck Taylors for the perfect mix of sporty and chic, or go all out for a really elegant feel and accessorize the organza bow-back dress ($80) with strappy high heeled sandals and dainty jewellery.

The collection, which ranges from $44-$80, is a special edition of the eponymous LC Lauren Conrad at Kohl’s line that’s already a testament to her chic flair. The items officially hit stores and Kohls.com on February 22, just in time for the release of Disney’s hotly anticipated live-action adaptation of Cinderella out in March, starring Downton Abbey’s Lily James in the title role, as well as Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother and Cate Blanchett as the wicked step-mother Lady Tremaine. But for those who simply cannot wait that long, a few pieces can already be found online. The best part? The clothes won’t turn back into rags after the stroke of midnight!
