Shady ladies – we round up our favourite sunglasses this season

Coachella inspired sunglasses hipster sunnies

With Coachella on the not-so-distant horizon, festival season is almost upon us – and nothing pulls together an outfit like a pair of sunnies. Lucky for us the sunglasses market is awash with brands to keep us stylish whilst trampling muddy fields and canoodling in the sun, and there are some new kids on the block that are giving the likes of Rayban and Persol a run for their money in the style stakes.

Here’s what we’ve got our eye on this summer.

Coachella inspired sunnies

1. Hipster Sunglasses

Vintage junkies will be in their element perusing the retro styles by Hipster Sunnies. With a heavy focus on the festival scene – think a heady mix of sixties style and all things music – these are the go-to guys to gear up for summer.

We love Classic Steampunk Black!

2. Epokhe

Why do we love Epokhe? For starters its translation from ancient Greek is ‘the theoretical moment where all judgments about the existence of the external world are suspended’. We hear you! Cutting-edge with a distinctive arty streak, the brand treads a fine line between fashion and surf fashion.

We love Anteka Crystal.

3. Finlay & Co

Handcrafted and oozing buckets of style, Finlay & Co’s wooden wonders caused a stir at London Fashion Week and have been seen on the likes of David Gandy. Plus they recently launched prescription sunglasses. Get your initials along the temple for an ultra luxe vibe.

We’re obsessing over Bosworth in Zebrano.

4. Staple & Ford

If you’re that person who feels you can never find a pair of shades that suits you, we’ve got just the ticket. Providing a dream mash-up of classic design and contemporary style, Staple & Ford offers a ripe selection of frames, temples and lenses for mixing and matching to create your own bespoke pair. Go wild!

We love the Pinsley style, with classic tortoiseshell frames and temples and azure blue lenses.

5. Italia Independent

Statement sunglasses galore – expect velvet, denim, extreme cat-eye, butterfly-strewn, designs embellished with pearls, studs or Swarovski crystals… You won’t be stuck for choice here. Quirky, fun and an undoubtable talking point. Check out these stunners!
