New E-Tailer on the Block: Izabel London
New E-tailer on the block: Izabel London
Who else can spend hours whiling away time adding clothes to a virtual shopping basket when there’s a pile of washing to be done, an empty fridge to be stocked, and a carpet to be vacuumed? Please don’t say it’s just me.
Yes, online shopping is one of our favourite pastimes here at YCB– albeit not one we would necessarily add to the ‘interests’ section of our CV, because the extent of our habit does not need to be widely publicized. In addition to this, personally, I am an enabler, so when I heard of a new e-tailer I thought I would share my passion.
Izabel London is an up and coming e-tailer offering a fresh take on catwalk inspired fashion at affordable prices, so it’s high-fives all round.
It covers all wardrobe necessities. There’s a dedicated holiday shop if you’re lucky enough to be jetting off or lucky enough to be experiencing a heat wave; there are outfits for special occasions, work ensembles, and luxe sportswear (we won’t tell anyone you only buy sportswear because going to the shops in pajamas is frowned upon). Expect pieces such as spaghetti strap culottes jumpsuits, tiered hem textured dresses, off-the-shoulder denim shirts, and many more key styles.
The AW16 collection is a beautifully curated selection of styles; it promises key transitional pieces, inspired by the catwalk but at accessible high-stress prices. The collection provides basics that will see you through many seasons as well as more trend-led pieces, and all the clothes work really well together – it’s as though Izabel London created an easy-to-buy all-in-one wardrobe for us all.
Bold prints, muted khaki, wide leg trousers, and winter florals are stand out features of the campaign – and well-selected pieces ensure the options aren’t overwhelming.
The collection builds on summer’s hero trends, such as bomber jackets and culottes, with an injection of autumnal hues and prints ensuring they’ll take you straight into the next season. There are military influences, feminine lace, and chic silhouettes so we can all achieve effortless style, especially in the tricky phase of transitioning between seasons. Izabel London’s predictions for next season extend further, including irregular hems, textures, and oversized pieces, so be sure to check out the collection.
The website is easy to navigate with clear categories and a lovely layout. It’s the online equivalent of walking into a well-curated, spacious, and brightly lit shop, but one that you can search by size, colour, price, and style. Handy features like the ‘hot right now’ section and ‘my wish list’ are incredibly useful and make shopping a breeze – if payday seems an age away, but you just can’t get that sequined dress out of your head, add it to your wish list and come back later. If this wasn’t enough, they also offer free returns so you can try on a bunch of options and send back anything you decide not to keep (if you actually can send back clothes rather than simply buy more please let me know, it seems to work against all of my instincts.)
