Finally! SJP announces her new LBD line
Mark your calendars, people! Sarah Jessica Parker has just announced that she is launching a collection of Little Black Dresses.
Please excuse our girlish screams.
That’s right, folks, SJP has just solidified her fashion icon and all-round general superstar status by expanding her SJP Collection to the iconic LBD. Posting on Instagram, she revealed the launch in true Carrie Bradshaw style, twirling around in a full-skirted swing dress:
Spinning around the revolving door, SJP posts: “Well folks, I’ve teased you long enough. It’s time for the big reveal. Introducing: the SJP LBD. A new collection of Little Black Dresses designed by me, all made proudly in the USA. Our first silhouette (a surprise!) will launch this October exclusively at @bloomingdales, with more designs to follow soon thereafter. Including this one, which I’ve been practically living in. Follow us on @sjpcollection so you don’t miss a beat. The wheels (and doors) never stop spinning… X, SJ”
SJP first launched her eponymous label with a range of swoonworthy shoes, a nod to her Sex and the City character’s biggest fashion weakness. It seems that while we’ve been lusting away after her Bradshaw-inspired heels, SJP HQ has been planning the range which takes its name from everyone’s fashion favourite.
Launching this October exclusively at Bloomingdales (which, yes, does deliver to the UK!) SJP has given very little detail as to what styles we might see in the collection. Although she does hint that the dress in her Instagram post is her favourite of the range. Who doesn’t love a swirl-tastic skirt?!
The LBD has become a staple in every woman’s wardrobe, and it’s clear to see why. Its versatility means that by day you are the epitome of power dressing, and by night you can make a sexy statement in effortless fashion. From Posh Spice to Holly Golightly, the LBD can be whatever you want it to be. Take Carrie Bradshaw’s perfect day-to-night look: dressing up her classic LBD with her signature curls, sunkissed skin and tan accessories.
Now we’re not saying that getting your legs out in October is always a practical idea, but by opting for some patterned tights and pairing with leopard print accessories and a leather jacket, you’ve immediately transformed the same dress into a grunge-inspired cold weather-appropriate outfit. It really is all about the accessories.
While trends may come and go (see: pink and white tulle – REALLY Carrie?!), the LBD is always here to stay.
So while we wait on the edge of our seats for the new collection to drop, you’ll find us obsessively stalking the SJP Collection Instagram, and binge watching our boxset of SATC.
