This winter it’s all about glitz and glamour!

Raishma Couture

Party season is approaching fast and apart from the luxury layering of cashmere in Winter, there’s nothing we love more here are YCB than putting on our most glamorous looks to celebrate throughout December. London is already all lit up so it’s time to start thinking about that party dress ladies. We may have already found ours, with the help of Raishma Couture. Exceptionally beautiful gowns, cocktail dresses and separates at incredible prices is something we just can’t say no to.

Raishma Couture was launched in 1998 by Raisha Islam, after training under the famed Elizabeth Emanuel, responsible for one Princess Diana’s wedding dress. With such a stunning background in couture, Raishma is now responsible for the some of the best looks for notable figures including Princess Beatrice, Mel B and Goldie Hawn. With an eastern inspiration, Raishma focuses on intricate hand beadwork and embroidery with the most excellent craftsmanship.

The AW16 collection is simply stunning, ethereal with a hint of ice queen. A cool colour palette featuring hues of icy blues, cold greys and stark ivories offset with rich luxurious velvets. Delicate silks and lace are veiled with intricate thread and beadwork, seen across the blouses adorned with light embellishments and beading. Toughen up this featherlight silk with leather or keep it classic with a chic trouser for the ultimate Christmas party look. To really amp up the glamour, the evening gowns are red carpet-ready, opulent yet still very delicate is the way Raishma designs, so no piece is too heavy or too much.

Key motifs that run through the collection include transparent overlays, silk embossed fabrics and hand embroidery, giving everything this ethereal goddess-like feel, which is exactly how we like our evening wear to feel. Dressing for an occasion shouldn’t be a chore and with Raishma Couture the pieces work seamlessly in with our own wardrobes for that much needed dose of glamour. There’s a beauty in the contradiction of heavy and soft fabrics, complimented with flattering colours, hand-beaded work, and clean-cut silhouettes which is what makes the pieces so transferrable and wearable with anything. For those who believe a little sparkle is never too much, the indulgent capes and brocade jackets work effortlessly with jeans for a luxe brunch look just as much as it does for a few drinks. The designs are completely original and embrace femininity, elegance and grace, encapsulating Raishma’s couture philosophy.

Raishma showed the collection at London Fashion Week to high acclaim, due to her marrying high quality fabrics with great artisan skills, impeccable cut silhouettes and a meticulous eye to details which was evident at the show. Raishma’s collections are expanding, with Resort and even Bridal with absolutely lustworthy pieces perfect for that special day. But until someone puts a ring on it, we’ll take the Couture!

The whole of team YCB has had their eye on Raishma’s latest collection and you should too! With all the business of the Christmas period, everyone needs a little sparkle this season and there is no one to do that better than Raishma. Couture pieces that don’t break the bank is definitely something we can get on board with as well, with the most expensive piece an evening gown at £399. Wear the pieces again and again for weddings and other occasions for but this Christmas is where you’ll really get the maximum impact with Raishma Couture. It’s no secret that to get that Princess moment even for one night is simply dreamy – but with Raishma you can have that moment for life!
