With “Dream Catchers” the theme of the night and wisecracks from fashion professionals aimed at their own industry filling the room the Fashion Group International’s Annual Night of Stars honored some of the industry’s biggest stars. Held at Cipriani 55 Wall street in New York City, fashion’s favorites, including Karl Lagerfeld, Sarah Jessica Parker and Renee Zellweger attended the event held Thursday (Oct 25)
Renee Zellweger presented the prestigious Superstar Award, the night’s top honor with past recipients including Donna Karan, Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld and Oscar de la Renta, to her longtime friend Carolina Herrera. “I’m really lucky, We’ve collaborated for so many years and she’s helped make the experience of being an actress and going to public events just extraordinary. Every event is memorable because of what she brings to it and the gift of these gorgeous gowns to help celebrate occasions,” said Zellweger.
With Simon Doonan as the evening’s host and other Star honorees including Derek Lam, Gareth Pugh, and Haider Ackermann the night’s celebrated Brand Heritage Award, presented by Viola Davis, went to the Italian fashion house Max Mara, which was accepted by Nicola Maramotti, part of the second generation to run the label.
