Get Ready For A Season At The Movies – We’ll See You In The Popcorn Queue!
Get ready for a season at the movies – we’ll see you in the popcorn queue!
Working the typical 9-5 can be beyond exhausting. When finally clocking out, we can’t wait to change out of our work clothes and into loungewear (we love these looks from Wellicious!) And if you’re anything like us, there is no better way to end a productive day than unwinding with a glass of red wine and your favourite movie. Even going to the movies is a great way to get into ultimate relaxation mood. You’re automatically taken into a whole new world where nothing else matters and you can eat as much popcorn and ice cream as you’d like without being judged.
Here at Your Coffee Break, we will always recommend Cineworld. Cineworld is there for you to book tickets, view movie trailers and decide on which movie you would like to view for your evening at the cinema. As the days are getting shorter and the weather is getting colder, we can’t think of a better time to switch off our phone and obsess over new movie.
We have put together a few options of movies that you would normally watch, and some movies that would maybe make you think a little more while munching on those milk duds or lounging on your couch…
For the Romantic Comedy lover
We all love the classic romcom movies like How to lose a guy in 10 days, The Wedding Planner and Friends with Benefits, and yes, we choose them mainly for the male leads good looks. Matthew McConaughey can only be in soo many movies of ours and we’ll watch anything with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Try Perks of being a Wallflower with one of our faves, Emma Watson. This movie is a perfect mix between a romantic comedy and many life lessons all in one gorgeous package. And by gorgeous we mean Logan Lerman in one of his breakout films. Another recent movie that has just been released on the big screen is Love, Rosie. Starring Lily Collins and Sam Clafin, both not known for being in romantic comedies, this movie is for sure going to be a success! Very insightful with a great love story, life lessons about having the right person all along standing right in front of you the whole time, and laughter.
For the Action Addict
Yes, there are tons and tons of action movies; The Dark Knight, The Matrix and Indiana Jones to name a few, but all basically with the same types of plots. The Hero, and the Villain. Not really any underlying messages to think about, because, even though we all are fans of these movies, it’s easy to get sidetracked with all the fighting and violence. Plus, yet again, rotating with the same types of characters in each movie.
Try Divergant, starring Shailene Woodly and Theo James, for an action packed and adventurous journey through the mind, and body. Plus, who doesn’t love a dose of Theo James in their lives? Action packed and thought provoking all at once. And if you aren’t into those types of action films, there is also Inception, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. An action film that has twisting and turning stages of events and you wouldn’t expect the outcome, much like the thousands of action movies today.
For the Sci-fi Nerd
Not saying you’re nerdy if you like Sci-Fi, we have all been there. Who doesn’t love a good Harry Potter scene in their lives a little now and then or floating around in space with Clooney and Sandra in Gravity? Another common Sci-Fi would be The Hunger Games, starring Jennifer Lawrence; Mockingjay Queen and stuck in a love triangle.
Try stepping away from the typical love story and get running with the The Maze Runner, starting Logan Lerman, a film that was made to test your thoughts, intuition, and instincts. This is a movie where you are challenged to think of the plot, who is evil, who will turn into the hero, and who will surprise you. Another film that has just been released but is already hot on our radar is Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. We’re sorry, Matthew McConaughey again, but along with a whole star cast like Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine. Now, this is what a real Sci-Fi is all about! Based around NASA and real scientific concepts, this film is a mix of Gravity and Nolan’s Inception. All about family, love and saving the ones you love.
Hopefully with these few suggestions, you will start to break out of your comfort zone and into a world of possibility at the Cinema! We’ll see you in the popcorn queue?
