Floral fever lands in London come May! With the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show and Hyde Park’s Rose Gardens in full bloom, Royal Lancaster London is following suit with the ‘Bloomin’ Brilliant Afternoon Tea’.
From 2 May until June 2018, the pastry chefs will be switching the butter for buttercups with the flora-inspired afternoon tea.
A beautifully botanical selection of sweet delicacies features a freshly-picked Strawberry tart with lime curd and baby basil; Valhrona chocolate flower pots with budding crystallised violets; a Lemon and elderflower sable dome; and an Orange blossom and ginger macaron.
Savoury seedlings include Royal Lancaster home-smoked salmon roses, smoked in a Citrus-Chamomile tea; and Free-range Barradale Farm eggs with wild baby cresses. A Sunflower-seed choux bun filled with zesty Coronation chicken offers a rather exotic scent; while the bouquet of English Asparagus is paired with sun-blush tomatoes and red amaranth; and a warm Tartlet of Somerset brie, Royal Lancaster honey and red onion chutney are both full of wild British woodland flavours.
Both traditional and raisin scones will be served with a Homemade strawberry jam and Cornish clotted cream, plus a deliciously nectar-sweet Orange marmalade. All blooming Afternoon Teas will include a ‘Flowering Tea’ for the table, and a packet of bee-friendly seeds to take home and plant.
Why not sweeten up the start of summer with a glass of Moët & Chandon Brut Champagne? The perfect accompaniment for the Bloomin’ Brilliant Afternoon Tea. For an even more ‘flower-full’ combination, enjoy a glass of blushing Moët & Chandon Impérial Rosé Champagne.
The whimsical afternoon tea is served in the hotel’s elegant Hyde Lobby Bar from 2pm until 5.30pm, from 2 May until June 2018. The Bloomin’ Tea is priced at £35 per person; £45 with a glass of Moët & Chandon Brut Champagne; and £55 with a glass of Moët & Chandon Impérial Rosé Champagne.
