How to Prepare a Winning Mindset for the Day Ahead

May 7, 2020

Keeping a healthy morning routine is a great way of setting yourself up for a productive day, and with most of us now working from home, there is a little more time in the morning. So take advantage of having no stressful commute and really look after yourself! A great way to start is by preparing a winning mindset for the day ahead.

Gratitude:

Start the day with thinking about at least one thing you’re grateful for. Even when you wake up ‘on the wrong side of the bed,’ there is probably at least one thing you can think of. This small moment will help shift your mindset to a positive one of abundance. It’s a good base line to start your day with.

Intentions:

One of the first things to do, after breakfast and before you get to work, is to set your intention for the day ahead. What one feeling or focus do you want to commit to today? Maybe you were restless yesterday, so today you want to remember to slow down and take small consistent steps. Perhaps you’ve been struggling to sit down and complete a task so your intention is to start with the biggest challenge and get rid of distractions.

Motivation:

To keep you motivated throughout the day, it’s important to be your own best friend and give yourself well-earned breaks or things to look forward to. We are all motivated by different things… it might be a sweet treat, cup of tea, speaking to friends and family, doing an activity outside, reading a book. You can even set yourself a timer and at the end of that, no matter how work is going, this time can be set to put your things down and do a little something that brings joy and motivates you.

Lessons:

Things sometimes do and sometimes don’t go according to plan. That’s life. But what life can always give us is a lesson to learn from. Be ready for life’s knocks and unexpected bumps, prime your mind to see them as opportunities rather than set-backs. After all….’there is no failure only feedback.’
