3 Ways to Transform Your Home with Festive Glamour This Season

3 Ways to Transform Your Home with Festive Glamour This Season

November 22, 2020

The Coca-Cola truck, the emotional advertisements, and the endless supply of quality streets. Although November seems to be stretching on a bit this year, the festive season is just around the corner. We may be in a bit of limbo as to whether we should bother splashing out on the sparkly dress or booking the annual weekend away with the girls, but the show must go on. The festive season is still a time to be excessive, self-indulgent and luxurious. As tempting as it may be, you must not resort to scattering a variety of pound-shop tinsel around the house and calling it a day.

So, how can you ensure that your home is the most glamorous on the street this year?

Firstly, invest in a top class Christmas wreath. In any instagram images of fabulously festive marble homes, a Christmas wreath is always present. Whether it is hung on the front door, in the hallway, or used as a table centrepiece, a wreath is always an impressive decoration to add to the home. Not only that, it transforms the house instantly and requires minimal decorating effort. It doesn’t take a scrooge to admit that there’s nothing fun about the journey that is installing Christmas lights (especially at the point when that one bulb amongst the five hundred becomes loose and causes an outage).

McQueens Flower’s have an all new made to order Christmas Wreath collection that includes 3 themes, each featuring its own style of wreath. McQueens Flowers are synonymous with luxurious Christmas decor and these artisanal wreaths are inspired by snow-laden landscapes and precious elements. Every wreath features carefully picked seasonal stems, including roses and hydrangeas.

Secondly, put effort into your dining table with a themed table set. There’s no point whipping out that special china if you’re just going to plonk it on a boring old piece of wood. Your table should be transformed into a display of luxury- it’s not every day you get to splurge out on a selection of Marks and Spencers desserts. This means white linen tablecloths, the White Company’s Winter candle, and a deluxe set of christmas crackers. McQueens Flower’s also provide Festive Sets that are carefully curated collections featuring enchanting winter florals, tea lights and dinner candles. These will create a dynamic tablescape display to match your stunning wreath!

Thirdly, keep it clean. I cannot emphasise enough that multi-coloured tinsel should be avoided like the plague. Bear in mind the words of wisdom from the Lady of glamour herself, Coco Chanel, “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.” This should be considered when decorating your home for the festive period. That means stick to a colour theme with your tree and refrain from putting any flashing, muti-coloured lights on it. In fact, keep it constant and use the same kind of lighting on the Christmas tree, the fireplace, and the door frames. Don’t forget to wrap seasonal faux foliage such as holly and ivy leaves and branches around the light cords to hide the electrical wiring!

You might not have a reason to get glammed up this Christmas, which gives you all the more reason to put your energy into dressing up your home with festive decor! By following this compact list of guidelines, your home will be transformed into one envied by the neighbours in no time.
