Hailing from Brazil, Douglas has always been fascinated by coffee and how experimental each cup can be. From testing different roasts, using variations of mineral waters, and unique techniques like pouring coffee over freezing metal balls to retain flavour, Douglas’ meticulous attention to detail and his philosophy on coffee make him a stand out figure in London’s coffee scene.
Now at the helm of Day Trip, Douglas brings his vision to life, with a space that combines good coffee, a beautiful setting, and a menu which specialises in pour-over brewing. Utilising Aeropress and Origami brewers to extract the fullest flavours from each brew, guests can select from a regularly rotating selection of six different types of beans, carefully chosen by Douglas himself.

BlueWater’s reverse osmosis system filters water 10 times more effectively than traditional carbon filters, eliminating contaminants like microplastics and toxic metals.
