Many parents take inspiration from celebrities’ baby nurseries on Instagram. But it is imperative to keep your baby’s safety as the top priority when it comes to decorating their nursery. Stelrad, radiator manufacturers, shared with us how to ensure your nursery can be on trend with celeb styles and, most importantly safe.
Mrs.Hinch documented the full journey of decorating her second baby (Lennie’s) nursery. She also gave followers the chance to choose key parts including wallpaper and paint colour. The stunning nursery also includes many accessories: a rocking chair, bookshelf, a rug, decorative light shade and soft animal toys. It is important to always ensure decorative accessories are not in reach of babies and can be easily hidden away.
Love Island winner Dani Dyer decorated her nursery with a gender neutral approach using grey tones with hints of greenery following an animal print theme. Dani includes a luxurious canopy with lights for decoration over the baby’s crib. It is also crucial to ensure drapery and blind cords are out of the baby’s reach from the crib and changing table. Overall, we love the grey color scheme with clashing patterns from the animal theme and accents of stars featured throughout.
Dani also shares a snap of the baby’s changing area which continues the theme perfectly. Above the radiator is a circular mirror which adds depth and the illusion of a bigger space. The use of bunting boosts an eclectic scheme; bunting is the perfect little something to add colour and pattern. It works particularly well in this nursery due to the neutral interior creating a pop. Dani has used a radiator cover but alternatively a low surface temperature radiator is a practical option to ensure safety for your child as they grow up.
Chris at Stelrad comments:
‘‘LST radiators are especially common with families and schools/nurseries, as they are the safest option to prevent any harsh burns, yet still keeps the room feeling warm during the colder months. As a parent it can be a constant worry when ensuring your child is safe but with a low surface temperature radiator your child will be protected.’’
Ensuring your nursery is practical for the newborn stage as well as the toddler stage is an essential factor when designing a nursery to last years to come. Towie star Lucy Mecklenburgh decorated 1 year old son, Roman’s playroom and nursery with soft furnishings including a soft play area and a ball pit. The room also includes a bookshelf, kitchen play set and open unit with toys which is ideal for a toddlers nursery.
Loose Women and Instagram sensation Stacey Solomon recently revealed she is expecting a baby girl. Stacey has begun to document her journey with decorating the baby’s nursery at the Pickle cottage showcasing all of the pink girly items she has purchased. We can’t wait to see the finished look!
Chris at Stelrad comments:
‘‘When taking inspiration from the celebrity style, always ensure you consider the room size. Over decorating the room can make the room feel crowded and overwhelming. My top tip would be to ensure all the essential items and storage solutions are considered first and then decorative pieces can be incorporated after.’’
