Positively Pink Afternoon Tea At The Wyndham Grand

October 19, 2012

The Wyndham Grand in Chelsea Harbour has launched a Positively Pink Afternoon Tea in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a portion of profits from all sales of the tea going towards charity.

Positively Pink Afternoon Tea

Throughout October the Wyndham Grand will be serving a daily afternoon tea featuring super-food ingredients, such as water cress, ginger and green tea, which have all been cited as possessing properties aiding in the prevention and treatment of cancer. Collaborating with fine jewellers Robinson Pelham in the creation of this quintessentially Afternoon Tea with a pink twist, the Wyndham Grand offers the Positively Pink Afternoon Tea in aid of The Haven, the UK’s leading breast cancer charity.

The tea is every bit as lovely as one would expect at the Wyndham Grand, and it is served in the quiet ambience of the glass-fronted lounge that overlooks the marina and London’s skyline. We happened to go for our Positively Pink Afternoon Tea on a rather rainy afternoon, and the cosy lounge of the hotel made for the perfect setting to while away the wet hours of that particular Sunday.

In addition to the warm and genteel atmosphere, we also enjoyed excellent views of Chelsea Harbour which remained scenic and charming despite the poor weather. The sandwiches made with super-food ingredients are served on the tradition three tiered tea tray and come accompanied by perfect, petite home baked cakes and classic scones which are of course, served warm with strawberry jam and fresh clotted cream. My personal favourites from that afternoon’s tea were the smoked salmon with baby spinach and cream cheese, the sticky ginger cake and the green tea éclair with lemon glaze. The Positively Pink Afternoon Tea is served with an optional glass of pink Tattinger Champagne.

Guests to the Positively Pink Tea at the Wyndham Grand also have the option of purchasing a Robinson Pelham pendant in silver or yellow gold with pave-set diamonds in further support of breast cancer charity The Haven. The pendants’ tree of life design is an international emblem of hope, growth and strength and is based on The Haven’s symbol. The pendant is priced with the tea at £195 and is available for purchase throughout the month. 100% of the profits from the Robinson Pelham pendant will be donated to The Haven.

With the Wyndham Grand’s proximity to the renowned Kings Road in Chelsea, its Positively Pink Afternoon Tea is the perfect post-shopping relaxation. With plush surroundings, a delectable and specially created menu as well as the knowledge that we were making a charitable contribution, it was easy to feel good about indulging ourselves in the Positively Pink Afternoon Tea.
