Why? Well, not only does Greece offer some of the most idyllic and picture-perfect places to visit, but island hopping means you aren’t limited to just a couple locations. What’s more, even your mode of transport is instagrammable!
Two of the most popular and beautiful groups of islands are The Cyclades, south-east of the Greek mainland, and the Ionian islands, on the west coast. For avid ‘grammers, a yacht charter in Greece around these island groups is a dream come true.
Discover our favourite spots below – we challenge you to take a better photo!
The Cyclades
The Cyclades are Greece’s most famous islands, ideal for touring by Cyclades yacht charter. One of the most beautiful is the volcanic Santorini, with its bright, white-washed houses studded with vivid pink bougainvillea, gorgeous views and incredible blue water.
Santorini is popular as a romantic getaway or even wedding destination, due in part to its breathtaking sunsets.
Santorini is also a foodie’s paradise, famed for its locally-produced cherry tomatoes, aubergines and goat’s cheese, as well as many delicious wines using grapes grown on volcanic soil. For lunch with a view, there’s nowhere better.

The island of Syros was a former trading centre, and its capital Ermoupoli reflects its 19th century prosperity, boasting breathtaking neoclassical architecture in warm pastel colours.
Further along on your Greek island hopping escape comes the famous Mykonos, a favourite among the jetset. Known as ‘the island of the winds’, it’s also a paradise for water sports enthusiasts, attracting surfers and sailors from around the world. With its cobbled streets and pretty white-washed houses draped in bougainvillea, it is little short of picture-perfect.
The Ionian Islands
Greece benefits from the deepest water in the Mediterranean around the western Ionian islands. They are known for their temperate climate, mountains, lush vegetation, rugged shores and beautiful beaches.
Corfu is the best-known of these islands, with a rich multi-cultural heritage and a beautifully preserved old town, now a UNESCO world heritage site. Instagrammers will love its maze of delightful narrow streets, studded with churches and monuments and with no filter needed!

It might be cosmopolitan and popular, but Corfu is still wonderfully rugged and unspoilt in places.
Another highlight on an Ionian yacht charter is the island of Lefkada, with its picturesque villages, churches and monasteries, idyllic coves and beautiful secluded beaches, where wonderful seafront restaurants await.
Lefkada also has sea caves of great beauty, and its Egremni Beach is reputed to have the bluest water in the world, well worth capturing in a photo.

Continue on your Greek island hopping adventure until you reach Kefalonia, made famous by Louis de Bernières’ best-selling novel Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. It’s a mountainous island, covered in pine, cypress and olive trees, with many charming, secluded bays.

The last island of the Ionians is Zakynthos, endowed with fertile valleys, sandy beaches and secluded coves.
If you are really lucky, you might even get to snap a photo of one of Zakynthos’ endangered and protected species, the sea turtle, as you bathe in its sparkling turquoise seas.
A Greek island hopping trip around the Cyclades and the Ionian islands promises unbelievably beautiful and picturesque scenery, boasting gorgeous beaches, secluded coves and romantic villages. Better still, you can be sure that your photos will be the envy of all your followers. Insta-queen, here you come!
