Brat Green is taking over the internet, from music to fashion and everything in between. However, experts at The Paint Shed are warning against using the shade in your home, and in one room in particular.
Over the past week alone, searches for “brat green” have increased by 143%– showing the love for the shade isn’t going anywhere fast!
Michael Rolland, paint expert and managing director at The Paint Shed gives a warning to people looking to use the Brat Green shade in their homes.
“Green is a versatile and often complimentary shade to use within any room within the home. Sage, pistachio and olive greens often work well in the home, adding a serene and sophisticated look. One of my favourite green paint options is Farrow and Ball Whirlybird, a lively and rich green shade which can add a bold touch without too much of a dramatic feel. Another great choice is Johnstone’s Trade Pinch of Pistachio, in a more yellow undertone pistachio shade perfect when looking to create a warm feel within your home.
There are however some green shades which don’t often work as well within the home, one of these being a bright or fluorescent shade such as Lime.
Though Lime Green can offer a bold look within the home, it may be harsh in some rooms. I would always advise against using overly saturated shades such as lime green in a bedroom, as this is where you want to be able to relax and this shade can often prevent that. Creating a relaxing environment is important when decorating a bedroom, so be sure to opt for colours which aren’t overstimulating.
If you want to use a more saturated shade of green in your home, try incorporating it into alcoves and as feature points rather than a full room or wall as this could create an overly harsh look and feel.“
