Transform Your Home Bathroom Into A Luxury Spa – 4 Easy Ways

December 2, 2024

Adore the feeling of visiting a luxury spa? Love how relaxed and healthy you feel afterwards? Well, now you can get that feeling without even leaving the comfort of your own home. Read on to find out how.

Use natural materials

One of the simplest and easiest ways to create a high-end spa-like environment in your home is to embrace natural materials when you decorate. This means choosing materials like wood, and stone to create a super restful vibe.

The good news is you can find all sorts of natural materials to use in your bathroom from stone and slate floor and shower tiles, to wooden cabinetry, to wicker or pampas grass storage baskets. You can even use natural materials as decor items too. For example, some small rounded stones placed on a shelf can have a very zen-like feel which is ideal for a home spa.

Install a sunken tub

Want to recreate that feeling of wading into the deep waters of a spa pool in your very own home? Then why not install a sunken tub? A sunken tub is a bathtub that instead of lifting your leg over the side to get into, you just step down and in.

There are two main different types of sunken tubs to consider. The first is a normal tub form that is sunken either on the floor of your bathroom or sunken into a raised plinth to get the same effect. The second is a custom sunken tub that is a bit more like a small splash pool. These are often much bigger than regular-sized tubs and are specially made to fit the dimensions of your home. They also are often tiled and not lined with a vacuum liner, and while they can add some serious luxury you’ll need to carefully consider the costs involved in installing them and filling them with water every time you want a dip.

Invest in a sauna

Another luxury item that can transform your bathroom into a spa-like space is a sauna. Now you may be thinking that even though you adore that amazing muscle relaxation that comes with using the sauna at the health club, there is no way you could afford to put one in your own home.

Well, the truth of the matter is that home saunas are much less expensive than people think. Indeed you can get a three-person infrared full spectrum or traditional sauna for less than £2000! So, if you are looking for a luxury home spa experience on a budget, there is no better choice.

Add a cold plunge

Cold plunge is all the rage right now thanks to Wim Hoff and all the very best spas provide this option. The good news is that you can take a cold plunge in the comfort of your very own home as well, and you don’t even have to fill your bathtub with ice.

Instead, you can get a portable and collapsible cold plunge pool. These are designed to be relatively short in diameter, but still roomy enough to fit a person inside. But their real genius is that they are all tall, which means you can plunge up past your shoulders with ease, and you don’t have to wriggle around in a shallow bath of ice to do it.
